An agency for the people
The founders saw most agencies struggled with poor morale and high turnover, so they adopted a “No Asshole Rule” and intentionally created a place where people could build long-term, fulfilling careers with dedicated time to improve their skills and understand the industries they served. Our entrepreneurial culture truly defines the agency.Employees are encouraged to pursue their individual passions and empowered to turn their big ideas into reality in service to clients and for their own career development. The results? Clients who love their teams and teams who love their clients. We have staff who have been with the agency for 10, 15 and 20 years!
Disruptors at heart, we changed the game and did it our way.
An agency built by entrepreneurs with a disruptive mindset, our goal from day one was to build a different kind of agency. That spirit is what attracted the most innovative startups that we helped grow into some of the most influential companies of our time. At the same time, Allison+Partners assembled a team of likeminded individuals who were driven by the same desire to see things differently.
How did we do this?
Through our work with disruptive brands to define the categories they created, we had a front row seat for how technology radically changed communications, solved big problems and better engaged with society. We saw how they weren’t afraid to admit something wasn’t working and instantly pivot to the newer, faster and better ways to achieve their goals. We took all those learnings to heart to grow ourselves into a premiere global agency.
Co-Founder and Global Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Heit takes us on our journey from our early days with some of the world’s most disruptive brands to the innovations of today that will drive communications and technology forward for the next generation.
From Westside to Worldwide...Allison+Partners grows from two offices to 32 markets around the world.
We expanded purposely with a relentless pursuit to grow with colleagues who themselves cultivate and nurture a builder mentality. Starting with two offices in California, we grew across America, expanded to Europe and began to spread across the globe. Each office reflects its local culture and operates in the “Allison Way,” the agency’s core values. Whether you visit our offices in the U.S., Europe, Asia Pacific or the Middle East, you’ll find a caring culture full of smart and creative people who think differently while doing great work for our clients.
“My favorite memory at Allison+Partners? Definitely closing the office early so we could all go take flying trapeze lessons."

A Simple Idea
The simple idea that our people are the most critical asset the agency holds led to our continuing success. As we celebrate 20 years of growth, we’re proud to share how Allison+Partners evolved from a 12-person start-up public relations agency into a global integrated marketing communications firm operating in 32 markets with more than 500 employees.
Allison+Partners began as an idea scratched out on a napkin at a bar on Belden Place, a narrow alley in San Francisco’s Financial District. PR industry veterans Scott Allison and Andy Hardie-Brown met there during the harrowing days of mass layoffs in tech. Frustrated with their experiences with agency life, the founders discussed creating a business with no office politics, no hierarchy, minimal bureaucracy, and where entrepreneurs can come and flourish. Over drinks, they merged their ideas, dreams and experiences to map out a vision for the best public relations and public affairs firm in the country.
